INTERNSHIP
OUR Commitment
At Folx and Friends Counseling, we believe in nurturing the next generation of mental health professionals by providing meaningful internships opportunities for both bachelor’s and master’s level students. Our internship program is designed to offer hands-on experience in a supportive, affirming, and inclusive environment where interns can grow personally and professionally.
BACHELOR LEVEL
Part-time [in-person or hybrid]
Bachelor’s Level interns are invited to engage in a variety of roles, including advisers won’t support, community outreach, observation of therapy sessions & learning about essential safety planning & crisis resources. This experience is ideal for students exploring the field of mental health, social work, or related disciplines, and looking to gain foundational skills in a real-world setting.
Master LEVEL
[in-person or hybrid]
Master’s level interns have the opportunity to depend their clinical understanding by participating in client care under supervision co-facilitating groups, individual therapy session, conjoint therapy sessions, and contributing to program development. We offer a collaborative learning environment to emphasize trauma-informed care, LGBTQIA+ affirming practices and harm reduction approaches.
Requirements
Currently enrolled in an academic program in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or a related field.
Interest in Mental Health and a commitment to learning about diverse therapeutic approaches.
Interest in Macro-Level Social Work - willingness to engage in community outreach, advocacy and systems level thinking.
Strong Communication Skills (verbal & written)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Desire to work with diverse individuals.
Basic Computer Skills
Interest and ability to utilize Canva
Flexible Availability
Completion of Onboarding/Training Competencies (provided by Folx and Friends Counseling)
